Yael Schenker awarded R01 from NCI

The National Cancer Institute has awarded a 5-year grant of more than $3 million to Yael Schenker, MD, MAS, for the first large-scale study comparing the effectiveness of two patient-facing advance care planning interventions in oncology.  The PEACe comparative effectiveness trial will compare the impact of (1) in-person, facilitated advance care planning and (2) web-based advance care planning on a range of outcomes relevant to patients, caregivers, clinicians, and healthcare systems. The goal is to identify the most effective and efficient approach to improve treatment decisions near end of life and ensure patients’ wishes are honored. Congratulations to Yael and her team!
